GOLF COURSES
ALCAIDESA: The only links course in Spain, which was designed by Peter Allis and Clive Clark in 1992. It is a fantastic experience with some great challenging holes that overlook the Rock of Gibraltar.
LA CALA: This golf course was designed by Cabell Robinson after he left the Robert Trent Jones organization. An exciting golf track with tricky small greens that are well bunkered, which puts the highest premium on approach shots. Water is only present on a couple of holes but La Cala will challenge all parts of your game.
SOTOGRANDE LA RESERVA: Designed by Cabell Robinson as the foot of Sierra de Almenara, this beautiful course is located on some superb ground. A challenging course with some great undulating fairways and fast greens.
REAL SOTOGRANDE: Sotogrande is one of the best courses in Europe designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones in 1964. Each hole is a work of art with fast greens, wide fairways surrounded by Andalusian thicket. Sotogrande’s pedigree is nothing short of top drawer as it has hosted many events during the years including the Spanish Open and Spanish PGA Championship.
ATALAYA OLD: Headquarters of the PGA of Europe, Atalaya Old was designed by Bernard von Limburger. A classic course formed by a series of superb fairways, strategically placed bunekers and excellent elevated greens.
VALDERRAMA: Designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr. in 1974, this classic course has some tremendous golf holes and will challenge all comers. Host of the 2002 Ryder Cup and annual venue for the Volvo masters it is commonly rated the #1 course in mainland Europe.
Valderrama was constructed in 1974 as “Sotogrande New,” to the designs of leading American golf course architect Robert Trent Jones.
SAN ROQUE OLD: Designed by Dave Thomas in 1990, this classic course has some tremendous views of the local mountains while winding its way through oak forests. It has hosted several tournaments including the Spanish Open over the years.
LOS FLAMINGOS: This course has some beautiful views of the Mediterranean and was carefully designed by Antonio Garcia Garrido. Slightly narrow fairways lead you to generous sized greens that are beautifully framed by white marble sanded bunkers. A truly scenic & challenging golf course.
SANTANA: Santana opened in 2004 and set in 138 acres of picturesque parkland. Designed by Cabell Robinson, this magnificent course has wide fairways with some prominent water hazards. The large undulating greens are well protected by challenging bunkers.
LOS NARANJOS: The Los Naranjos golf course is a classic Robert Trent Jones Sr. design with wide fairways, water hazards, well placed bunkers and large undulated greens. Each hole will offer you a new challenge where a lay up may be the intelligent choice. Greens are fast and firm as Los Naranjos encourages you to test your ability.
RIO REAL: Designed by Javier Arana in 1965, this classic course has some tremendous views of the local mountains. Located in a beautiful valley overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the Real River crosses the course several times. With mature trees lining many of the fairways the course is a splendid and enjoyable challenge.
LA QUINTA: This 27 championship hole resort opened in 1989 and was designed by Antonio Garcia Garrdio and former Ryder Cup player Manuel Pinero. This classic course has some tremendous golf holes and will challenge all comers. Majestically integrated into the natural surroundings, La Quinta has beautiful views of the Mediterranean and mountains that encircle Marbella.
MARBELLA RESORT: Designed by Dave Thomas, Marbella is a haven for golf enthusiasts located in the quiet and peaceful surroundings of Benahavis, an area of natural beauty. The world class course exceeds even the highest expectations as the carefully contoured fairways are enhanced with beautiful waterfalls and strategically placed bunkers as well as undulating and protected greens.
